On Using Our Talents for Peace and Love

Hal Ashby, the great director of Harold and Maude said, “I only hope we can use all of our talents and creativity towards peace and love.”

That’s literally all I want to do with my art. If it helps to create a beautiful world, if looking at my work causes someone to feel happier or more at peace, that is ultimately my goal. Not everything has to make people feel good. However, there is enough bad in the world already. I don’t have to, nor do I want to contribute to that.

So I’m with you, Hal. I hope I am living up to your hopes for a healthier world.
