Influenced by the repetitious patterns inspired by Andy Warhol, this series delves into what makes us human and mortal.

DIA DE MUERTOS (SERIES I)

Día de Muertos is a time to remember and honor our ancestors and our lineages with fond gratitude. We are mortal as individuals, but immortal as family and community. This series was a personal experience as I shifted from one career to another, honoring a previous life as I began a new one. I used pre-printed fabrics as my foundation for this first series and embellished with hand-quilting, free-motion quilting, bead work, and embroidery.
