On Making Art with Your Heart

I’ve always felt things very deeply. In some circles I might be considered empathic. Others might say I am over-sensitive. Some might label me as an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person).

All I know for sure is that I feel things at heart and soul level. Sometimes it is a primordial feeling: a connection so deep it goes down to the very roots of the earth’s own awakening.

I think it comes from my sense of wonder.  I never want to lose that. I’ve been told it makes me appear naïve, childish, and immature. So be it. I like seeing the world with child-like eyes: where everything is fresh and new and exciting.

I like the statement, “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” There is no room for cynicism in that statement.  Instead, it opens up entire worlds of beauty, joy, and wonder. I think that is why my art is so rich. It’s because I am rich.
