On Revolting Through Art

I wish I could express better how impactful this statement is for me. Like many people, I too have felt hampered in my life and prevented from (or more accurately, discouraged from) expressing my true self freely and without judgment or aggression or disapproval.

How nice it has been to reach middle age and not care anymore! How nice it has been to become an artist and allow my work to be a reflection of my thoughts and feelings.

And even though my work is neither approved of in all circles, nor celebrated, nor admired, nor even considered to be art, how nice it is to not care because in creating it I already revolted against those disapproving ideas!
