On Having Zero Restrictions
With the holidays over and Sofia back to her life in Philadelphia, it’s time to get back to work. It’s slow by slow.
Something that keeps me going is continuing to encourage myself to “color outside the lines.”
Mary Oliver wrote, “Said the river: imagine everything you can imagine, then keep on going.”
And that is so helpful and freeing; when it’s time to get started again, if I have ZERO restrictions on my creativity then the difficult work I have to do and learn will be easier. Then later when those restrictions are necessary or required, I can more easily abide by them.
